motherhood – a live blogging event

Friday, January 11th, 2013.

7:25pm – After a bottle of warm milk, playtime in the bath, and outfitted in her coziest kitten pjs, baby goes to bed. Out like a light.

8:00pm – Husband working late, so I make a giant salad for myself and proceed to watch HGTV.

8:30pm – House hunters international yo.

9:04pm – Decide that there is no further reason for me to be awake. Prep for bed commences.

9:33pm – Showered, in my non-coziest, non-kitten pjs, creeping instagram in bed.

9:45pm – Off iPhone, now reading book on Kobo. Jen Lancaster, pure hilarity.

10:04pm – Call husband, tell him goodnight, going to sleep. Famous last words.

10:06pm – Baby stirs. I ignore, turn baby monitor down.

10:09pm – Baby now full on screaming. Can’t ignore. Get up to comfort.

10:15pm – Snuggling, she is now quiet, try to lay her down. Instant freak out and full-out screams.

10:16pm – Now downstairs, baby chewing frozen ice pack, seems fairly content.

10:30pm – Baby now playing with cats and books, reinforcing my belief she is not going to sleep anytime soon.

11:00pm – After a diaper change, multiple bouts of gas, try to put baby down. Screaming instantly.

11:05pm – Trying to ignore baby. Still screaming.

11:15pm – On pinterest, baby still losing her mind.

11:33pm – Baby still losing it. Give up go back downstairs.

11:45pm – Baby having tantrum downstairs, rubbing eyes, cranking due to tiredness.

11:53pm – Go back to her room, try to put her to bed.

11:54pm – Screaming.

12:03am – Screaming.

12:07am – Calm. For about 30 seconds.

12:10am – Screaming.

12:13am – Screaming.

12:16am – Sitting on my lap while I write this post, is now the child.
